The Puerto Rican designer’s Spring-Summer 2027 collection revisits elements from his creative archive and reimagines them for a new chapter.

Puerto Rican designer Elier Aubret is commemorating 25 years in the fashion industry with Re:Collection, his Spring-Summer 2027 collection presented at L’espace in San Juan.

According to a press release provided to Iconic Original Media, the collection examines the relationship between memory, evolution and reinvention. Aubret returns to ideas, materials, textures, silhouettes and other design elements that have appeared throughout his career, reshaping them through his current creative perspective.

Rather than reproducing earlier work, Re:Collection uses the designer’s archive as the foundation for something new. Familiar concepts are given a different identity, creating a conversation between Aubret’s past and present work.

The collection centers on a defining creative question: What happens when experience becomes inspiration for creating again?

Through that approach, Re:Collection explores transformation and what the press materials describe as “creative sustainability”-the ability to revisit and develop existing ideas without losing the essence of the designer’s work. Here, sustainability refers to the continued life and reinterpretation of creative concepts rather than a specific claim about materials or production practices.

A Career Reconsidered

The presentation also marks a milestone for Aubret, whose 25-year career has been connected to fashion design, image, entertainment and Puerto Rico’s broader fashion culture, according to the announcement.

By returning to elements from across his body of work, Aubret presents the anniversary as more than a retrospective. The collection considers how a designer’s visual identity can continue to develop while remaining connected to the experiences that shaped it.

For Aubret, the milestone is positioned not as a conclusion but as a transition. Re:Collection celebrates what has already been created while introducing the next stage of his work.
