Paramount+ expands the cast of its limited series about the fight for 9/11’s first responders.
New York is once again telling one of its own stories. Paramount+ has announced that production is underway in the city on The Best of Us, a six-episode limited series starring Jeremy Strong, who also serves as an executive producer.
According to Paramount+, the series is inspired by the legal battle fought on behalf of the first responders who became seriously ill after 9/11. It was a fight that stretched across nearly a decade and secured close to $1 billion in compensation.
The cast is growing. LaChanze, Richard Schiff, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Joe Morton, Jen Tullock, William Baldwin and Keith W. Richards join as guest stars. They’re alongside the previously announced Andrea Riseborough, Barry Pepper, Neal Huff, Gaby Hoffmann and Sky Yang.
Behind the camera, Tobias Lindholm writes, directs and executive produces, and Frank Pugliese writes and executive produces. The series comes from Paramount Television Studios and SISTER, with Tony Hernandez also executive producing.
A premiere date has not been announced.
